Serves 4 – 6
1 can tomatoes 400g
2 tbs tomato ketchup or tomato puree
1 stock cube
1 tsp mixed dried herbs
For the sauce
500 ml semi skimmed milk
50 g butter or margarine
50 plain flour
Salt and pepper
6 sheets (180g) no pre-cook lasagne sheets
50 g grated cheese
Set the oven at 190C/ Gas 5 if cooking ready to eat.
Put the minced been in a large frying pan, add the onion and garlic and heat and stir all the time until the mince turns from red to brown.
Add the tomatoes, ketchup, stock cube and mixed herbs and stir until the sauce bubbles. Put on the lid and leave to simmer.
Make the sauce
Put the milk, butter and flour into the saucepan and heat up on the hob. Whisk all the time as the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper and taste.
Taste the mince and tomatoes and add salt and pepper if needed.
Make up the lasagne
Put 2 sheets of lasagne on the bottom of the oven proof dish. Break the sheets if needed to fit the dish. Spoon over the mince and tomatoes, then a little white sauce. Then add a layer of pasta, the
